Now you can search items on eBay by using photos

eBay is finally launching the computer vision search tools, which will help you to find an item on eBay by using photos. This feature is publicly available to everyone from 26th October 2017.

Giant ecommerce was working on this feature from past few month as they announced in July that they will released that will help customers to find things by using photos.

What is computer vision?

Computer vision allow learn from images rather than based on human-led data such as keywords and descriptions. They took the image, process and analyze it pixel by pixel.

Computer vision are using by most of the companies now a day to perform interesting things with it. Such as Google us it in Google Photos to recognize your pets images and make them in a single collection.

eBay computer vision image search will allow you to capture photo from smartphone in real life and then search that image to find product on eBay. There are also other thing, what you can do with finding an item on eBay.

You can also select an image from third party  website like Facebook, Instagram or Pinterest and eBay will find you out similar product on sale. You need to just share the URL or zoom on an image you want to search about and eBay computer vision search will do rest of the work.

Finding it on eBay and Image search are only the beginning. As shoppers continue to search with pictures, instead of words. Find it on eBay and image search will get smarter, learn and improve on the results that are surfaced.

This feature is available on both Android and iOS app of eBay.
