Facebook relaunched Event App as "Facebook Local"

Good news for people who don't want to relay on there friends to go out in night. Facebook relaunched it standalone Event app "Facebook Local" with some exciting updates. Users will now get bars, restaurant and nearby attraction in the app. Facebook Local is available for both iOS and Android but in US only.

Facebook have taken an advantage of 70 million business pages on Facebook and integrate them in Facebook Local app. User will see reviews and friends check-in too.

Facebook Product Manager said about the goal behind making of Facebook Local:

Make it a lot easier to do certain kin of looks ups that are very common when making plans with friends.

An year before Facebook launched the Event app, which was useful to show nearby event. But you don't have event nearby by all the time nor you want to go to parties every night. It was a redundant with event feature in Facebook app.

So now Facebook come up again with new change turning it into Facebook Local.

Facebook Local app will help you out to find the best bars in your town. Moreover it shows you shortcuts to see nearby restaurants, cafe, drinks and where your friends visited. There are lots of new things added like trending event feed, guide to music, nightlife are and what happening on certain day or event.

Facebook Sponsored Ads Are In Messenger Now

One thing you can't do with this app is that you can't order food directly from Facebook Local app as you do in Facebook app with food order feature. Right now there is no Facebook sponsored ads in this app, but as its combined with Facebook pages I think soon we will see ads in this app too.
