Well this fake Whatsapp app isn't downloaded from third party website nor with apk. Its downloaded from Google Play Store. There are lots of app on Google Play Store which are the replica of the famous apps and when people search about those app in Google Play Store search they found those fake apps in top list and download those apps without noticing that they are not official.

A new scam is emerging, an app called Dual Whatsweb Update having a previous name Update Whatsapp got over one million downloads on Google Play Store. This app has nothing to do with official Whatsapp and not owned by Facebook.

Mostly these kinds of apps are build to generate revenue from advertisements because they are not create by some awesome developers just a copy-cat one. But what about apps like that get private data of users and used them as a blackmail.

This is just one example of Whatsapp there are lots of other famous apps who fake apps are uploaded on the Google Play Store and they got millions of downloads too.

If you are the one who is also a victim of these kinds of apps, the best thing you do is to uninstall them. Next time before downloading any app just check it out that the app should be from official creator by checking the app developer, review and name of the app. And if you find out any app which is fake you can give review to that app and rate them negative so the other users didn't get caught into this kind of scam.
