Google Home Mini Pros and Cons Full Review

Google Home Mini is one of the product which was unveiled in Google Hardware Event 2017 this year. Google Home Mini just inherit the same features as Google Home have but in small size and different shape. Lets review in detail what Google Home Mini got for us.

Google Home Mini is small $49 dollar speaker available in three colors. Light Gray, Dark Gray and Coral Red.Its a voice controlled smart speaker that can be used to listen music, create appointments on calendar, control smart gadgets of home and play videos on chrome cast enable screens. With recent update by Google in Google Home that you can call from Google Home or you can find your phone if it misplaced in your home. Same feature is available in the Google Home Mini.

Last year Amazon launch Echo Dot which get wildly popular. Because in just $50, Echo Dot providing all the feature a smart speaker can perform. To answer this, Google launched Google Home Mini with the price of $49 a little bigger then Echo Dot. Like the Echo Dot, Google Home Mini is now small and affordable that can be use anywhere and made by giant search engine company.

Mostly people don't like Google Home not because of its feature but because of its shape. When a perfume bottle kind of shape was rejected by the people Google bring an other one in small size with better shape which they called  a donut size Home Mini. Well donut are lot more beautiful and yummy don't compare with that. Google Home Mini is 4 inch in diameter with curved size. Larger then the Amazon Echo Dot but same in price. It comes up in three different colors so you can choose your favorite color despite of just going with one black color Echo Dot have.

Top covered with fabric, which look amazing but a little bit worry too. What if it will become a dust collector is short time of usage. Well the fabric is not just for look, you can also use it as for physical interface with the Google Home Mini. If you don't want to use your voice you can still control Home Mini by tapping left or right side of the disc and it will lower or raise the volume as you want. Tapping in middle will pause your music or stop an alarm. Touch controls are sensitive so with a slight brush can change the control setting, which is a bit not good in a sense of user friendly. It means if i accidentally touch it the music will be paused or volume will raise. This fabric also have four multi colored LED lights which will let you know when Google Home Mini is listening. But the problem is that they are not as much as bright to see from across the room as we can see of Echo Dots.

Google Home Mini have good sound quality but if you want to listen music you need to connect it to larger speaker, otherwise the sound is fine. One other thing Google Home Mini is not using is USB-C port for charging, which sound quite strange.

Cons:

• Fabric will not stay long as bright as it is
• Not much audio options
• Amazon Alexa have more tricks then Google Home Mini

If you are not a person who is committed to Google's ecosystem then its not for you, you can try out other option Amazon Echo Dot. But if you are live deeply in Google's ecosystem then Google Home Mini is best suited for you.  Control Google Play Music with your voice and get answer from giant search engine of your queries by just saying "Ok Google".
